Trauma-Informed Therapy & Medical Trauma Support

Trauma can leave lasting imprints—emotionally, physically, and mentally. Whether you've experienced ongoing relational trauma, childhood trauma, or a singular overwhelming event, you deserve support that honors your story and helps you move forward with care and intention.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I offer a compassionate space for you to explore the impact of what you’ve been through. You don’t need to have the "right" words or a clear memory—just a willingness to begin. We’ll work together to gently uncover how past experiences may still be affecting your present, and explore what healing can look like for you.

Understanding Medical Trauma

Living with chronic illness often means navigating complex medical systems, frequent appointments, and painful procedures—sometimes without feeling heard, validated, or treated with dignity. These experiences can be deeply distressing and even traumatic.

Medical trauma is real. It’s not just in your head, and it doesn’t have to be minimized. Whether you’ve faced invalidation from providers, misdiagnoses, or invasive treatments, I provide a supportive, validating space to begin healing from those medical experiences.

How I support healing

Using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Art Therapy, we’ll access healing not only through talk, but through body-based and creative approaches that help the nervous system release stuck trauma. These techniques can be especially helpful if you feel "stuck" in patterns of fear, hypervigilance, shutdown, or overwhelm.

Healing doesn’t happen in one specific way. If you’re not ready to dive into trauma processing right away, that’s okay. We can start by building tools for regulation, grounding, and emotional resilience at your pace. And when you’re ready, we can go deeper together.

You are not broken—you are doing your best to survive what you've been through. Therapy can help you begin to feel safe again, reconnect with yourself, and reclaim your story.
